Terms of use
The Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (hereinafter the “ITHQ”), having its address at 3535 Saint-Denis Street, Montréal, Québec, Canada, H2X 3P1, operates the website HygieneSalubrite.com (hereinafter the “Website”). Please read these terms of use (hereinafter the “Terms”) carefully before using the Website.

By using or ordering products or services on the Website, you acknowledge having read and understood the Terms and agree to abide by them. If you do not wish to be bound by the Terms, you may not use the Website nor may you order products through the Website.

The Terms are subject to change at any time, and such changes will take effect automatically.

Location of Website operations
The ITHQ operates the Website from its offices in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Accessing the Website from territories where its contents or use are illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to use the Website do so of their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws.

Changes to the Website
The ITHQ may modify or suspend any aspect, content or feature of the Website, or terminate the Website at any time, without prior notice and without incurring liability. The ITHQ may also impose limits on certain services and features, or restrict your access to certain parts or all parts of the Website, without prior notice and without incurring liability.

Limitation of liability
The ITHQ assumes no liability for any damages, including direct or indirect compensatory damages, or any other damages of any kind whatsoever, which may be caused to users or to any other legal or natural person by any technical equipment or technology, whether on the Website or by any human or technical error, which may occur at any stage whatsoever, or problems or technical malfunctions with the electronic or communications network, online computer systems, servers, computer equipment, software, data transmissions or any other technical, Website congestion or other problem.

You are advised to carefully read the limitation of liability contained herein to learn about the extent of your responsibilities regarding the use of the Website.

Governing law
The Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Province of Québec. You hereby acknowledge that any dispute arising out of or relating to the use of ITHQ services and the Website will be submitted to the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Province of Québec.

Copyright
All contents (texts, illustrations and images) reproduced on the Website are protected by copyright law as well as intellectual property rights throughout the world.

Unless otherwise specified in one or another section of the Website, no part of the Website may be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, translated, downloaded, displayed or transmitted in any manner whatsoever without the prior written permission of the ITHQ. You may display or download parts of the Website, but only for non-commercial purposes and provided that you do not modify these parts and retain all notices of intellectual property rights. Any unauthorized use of the said contents may subject you to civil liability or criminal prosecution.

Trademarks
Certain names, words, titles, phrases, logos, designs, graphics, icons and trademarks used or displayed on the Website may constitute registered or unregistered trademarks of the ITHQ or third parties. Nothing on the Website may be construed in such a way as to directly or indirectly allow the use of a trademark reproduced on the Website without prior written authorization from the trademark owner.

Prices
The prices of our products are indicated in Canadian dollars and do not include the applicable taxes. All orders, regardless of their origin, are payable in Canadian dollars. The ITHQ reserves the right to change its prices at any time. Services are always billed using the rates in effect at the time of the transaction.

Payment
Purchases will be settled by credit card (MasterCard, Visa or American Express). The proposed fees must be paid according to the procedure described at the time of registration. The customer agrees to pay the total cost and related charges, including taxes, for the service purchased. The customer is solely responsible for the effective payment for the service purchased. The customer is solely responsible for the payment by credit card for the proposed service. The ITHQ is not liable for payment problems relating to the operations of the e-business service. Payment can also be made using gift certificates previously purchased on the Website.

Cancellation and refund terms and policy
Online purchases of training programs

Online purchases of a training program can be cancelled and a refund issued, provided that the following conditions are met:

  • The request for cancellation is received by the ITHQ within ten (10) days following the purchase of the training program.
  • The participant has not yet begun the training program.

Note: In cases where certain arrangements have been agreed upon by an establishment and the ITHQ, the latter will always prevail over the above.

Online book purchases
All online book purchases, whether in paper or electronic format, are final. No credits or refunds will be issued.

Protection of personal information
The Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec takes all necessary precautions to ensure the privacy of the personal information it collects and acts in accordance with the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information. As stipulated by the Act, only information required for the online purchasing transaction is collected. Please note that failure to provide the required information may result in the transaction being declined.

Only authorized personnel will have access to the information provided in order to perform the duties they have been assigned.

The ITHQ uses data security software and administrative directives, along with awareness-raising and training activities, in order to ensure the privacy of any personal information it receives.

Please also note that the ITHQ can transmit data collected, without obtaining permission from the persons concerned, for purposes outlined in the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, or for statistical, research, survey, audit or investigative purposes.

Any request to access or correct personal information must be addressed to the person in charge of the protection of personal information at the ITHQ.

Information Security
Online transactions at the ITHQ meet the security standards for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certification.
Private information provided as part of an online transaction at the ITHQ, such as those pertaining to a credit card, are transmitted as a highly secure electronic communication having been encrypted in order to guarantee the privacy and protection of its content against any third-party attempt to intercept, alter or decode said information.

Credit card transactions are secured and carried out directly by Desjardins. Given that the ITHQ does not have access to any personal credit information (e.g. card number, expiration date, security code), this information must be provided again for each new transaction.
